After carefully considering the client’s needs, we positioned the entrance at the heart of the home. Guests would walk down a path under a rhythmic pergola, leading them to a foyer anchored by a large fire hearth. At first, the ocean is hidden from your experience, but after a warm welcome from the owner, visitors would turn a corner and be met with the expansive living area, lined with windows and stacker doors that framed the breathtaking views of the ocean.

The design also anticipated the future. A second phase was planned to allow the owner to have six rooms for AirBnB rentals. The main part of the house has two bedrooms for the owners, which could later be sectioned off for privacy.
 
The site presented challenges. There was no road access, and everything had to be designed to be self-sustaining. A road was built from the main highway, and smart systems were incorporated, including solar panels on the roof for energy, water harvesting, and a filtration plant to recycle water back into the home. A service room was included to house a generator and backup batteries, ensuring power even on cloudy days. Every appliance was chosen for its low energy use, contributing to the home’s overall efficiency.
